Why can't they just kill the skills blackout for Beastmasters and then have pets and players SHARE DP in PvP? I bet you that thumpers with suicidal pets will vanish verrry quickly if this happened.
At least that change would still leave the rule of fleshy creatures leaving corpses intact.
(Though ideally this DP wouldn't also apply in PvE games. Comfort animal might also need a bit of a buff... at least for PvP, too.)
I'd much rather assume that they buffed barrage because they nerfed SW to only apply to 3 targets at once. It's no longer possible for a ranger to spike large groups at once. As soon as the 12 mob threshold hits, mobs get left unharmed.

Pretty sure the MM of hero-way can no longer raise minions and I'm pretty sure that when the minions died, that fueled all the Necros on the team way more than the pets dieing so... yea /fail.
Making the owner of the pet get DP when the pet dies is dumb because I'm pretty sure they call it "death penalty" for a reason, that being you only get it when YOU DIE... not your pet. /fail
I have to admit that I didn't think of the whole Splinter Barrage thing when I posted reasons for the buff of barrage. There is no reason to suggest that Izzy didn't buff barrage for both reasons however so I assume we are both correct in our assumptions. And your point still proves my point that A-net is finally taking into account the PvE side of the skill nerfs so... /win for both of us
